Hello all!
A lot has been happening lately and I haven't had a chance to update this! But I am here now to fill you up with all kinds of goodies!

Number one: WGMU got the money for Mason Day! Therefore Square Trio, Burn the Ballroom and NUMA will be playing on a locals stage brought to you by WGMU! It's going to rock and I expect you to be there. April 24th at 11!

Number TWO: This weekend there will be a lovely show at Damon's with Robert Parker Vaughan and No Compromise! It's a free show at Damon's on the Fairfax Campus. The bands are great, the food is good, and if you're 21 you can totally party with us!

Number three: I went to the Zoo yesterday. I saw a Hippo poop and made several Meerkat freinds. If you've never seen a meerkat goto Google and look up some pictures. They are darn cute. I will post some of my Zoo pictures for you soon!

Number four: The JOLT did a special edition today! The JOLT covered. It rocked and I played tons of covers by your favorite punk and indie bands! If you didn't check it out SHAME ON YOU! But if you couldn't make it, don't forget to tune into the JOLT next we for a special showcase of LOCALS LOCALS LOCALS! It's going to be freaking fantastic. If you have any bands you want played, get me the CD asap and they'll be on next Tuesday!

A Super Sweet Treat

Hey everybody!
Once again... it's me!!!!
This week was an exciting one for me as well as you guys.
My bestest friend in the entire world co-hosted all three of my shows! Her name is Judith Epe and she helped me rock out with you guys! And for the next three weeks she'll keep doing that! It's a super sweet treat for me and you.
This week we discussed the gross fact of Paris Hilton and the sad fact that Patrick Swaysey has Colan cancer. :( We're keeping him in our thoughts. Cancer has hit many people in a hard way... so our hearts are with everyone who has been touched by someone with cancer..(or who has canser.) But onto better news:

Tuesday March 18 WGMU will be hosting another installment of WGMU Rocks the Bistro! This time NUMA will be our headliner and it promises to be a hot show!

Remember Tuesday March 18th at 9pm in the JC Bistro!!!!

Square Trio and Lap Dancing

Hello there!
Just incase you don't know me already, my name is Sam, but I go by SamxRiot. I'm the Promotions Director for WGMU radio as well as a DJ. I offer two very rockin' shows. The first of which I call The JOLT! It airs Tuesday's at 8am, and believe me. it wakes you up. The second show I have airs in two different one hour segments, Wednesday's at 2pm and Thursdays at 2pm as well. It's called Rock n Roll Hideaway and I play the BEST of rock rotation and local music for you. And while thats an exellent run down of me, lets get to this blogging thing.

This week I was lucky enough to have an awesome local band named Square Trio to join me in studio on Wednesday. They rocked my world, and if they didn't rock yours soon you'll have a podcast to download! PLUS Saturday night at 8pm in Damon's (The bar and grill on the bottom floor of Sub I.) they will be playing a show, which will be hosted by me! So I really hope you can all make it out. If you're curious what Square Trio sounds like just check out their myspace, it's myspace.com/squaretrio. :) They are a pretty rockin' band!

So here's the low down on the band. There are THREE multi-talented musicians named Bo, Matt and Aaron. All three guys will hug you if you let them, they aren't so up to on the spot performances, but if you get them in a hot room, they might take off their clothes and give you a lap dance. (Okay maybe I'm exaggerating... but tis so funny.) The guys are all very down to earth, and generally love to play music. Though they call the music they play "barncore" it's acctually much more mature and wonderful than that. So I do hightly recommend that you make it to their show on Saturday.

On one more note... I want you to check out The JOLT next Tuesday to hear the very first show with my co-host Judith Epe. It will be much fun and I can promise you that there will most likely be chaos!
